She done threw her whole life away!

We have to learn to handle our emotions and not let our emotions handle us.

Praying for Sumter

I’m so sorry for this young man’s life. Being a victim of domestic violence I understand how a woman can feel self defense or shooting is the only way out. I do not know this couple. I am not judging the young man. I am looking at the numbers a 34yr old man was likely to have a lot of influence on a 23yr old woman. I pray for transparency in this investigation and if this woman is a victim of domestic violence and she acted in self defense I pray for her safety. If she is guilty as charged May justice be served in the court of law.

Looks like she was beaten! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

For those who really knew him would know he’s gentle and don’t hit women so I’m praying god does what he does best cause ain’t no way

I’m praying for both families but I can say this I have known him a very very very long time n he was sweet kind fun n loving im just lost for words right now praying

I didn't know any of these people but my heart felt prayers goes out to all

Let my cousin rest in peace.God knows the whole story and he will give judgement accordingly! Stop assuming!

Walking away is always the best option. Now her life is ruined and both families are left with a broken heart. And one family lost this young man forever. This is so so heartbreaking 💔

So very sad omg this gun violence got to.stop

Lord praying for the family this is so sad 🙏🙏🙏

Jasmine please ask our God to forgive you 🙏 #1 and pray for his family and God dose forgive only God knows and you the other can't say we all fall short and the devil sees his chances but he is and he will always be a snake and a lie I am going to continue to pray 🙏 for all involved ❤️

Praying for the families involved

My cousin didn't deserve this RIP cuz love u

I know her worked with her

Praying for both families!!! Very sad sad situation frfr

3 know what happened her him & the Lord. AGREE prsyes to All the Families

Oh Jesus Jasmine this hurts my heart ! Praying for both families involved

Praying for both families

Why are there bruises on her face , who put them there .

With the current femicide rates, we can’t know if it was self defense or not. Whether or not it was self defense needs to be extremely considered. Before you all start claiming the man was a victim like you all claim with every black man, make sure she didn’t protect herself. She probably did protect herself and it’s horrible that people would be so ready write her off as a murderer who threw away her life. Give her the slight benefit of a doubt. Our femicide rates are the highest.

Sumter has a huge problem that has been going on for quite some time! Maybe they need to be more proactive and a little less of the cute videos of officers dancing! Work on some of these major problems and get the crime rate down then there will be time to celebrate! Prayers for Sumter what a great place when i grew up there!

This is crazy Sumter needs to do better seriously and it's going on everywhere but Sumter has a high crime rate and I'm wondering what they are going to do something has to be done to many mother's/ Father's are losing their kids and it's heartbreaking build something up for the kids it's nothing for them to do down here nothing positive to bring change which is crazy to me Sumter never been this wild at all all these ppl in high position that have the power to make a change not doing nothing at all but want all this killing to stop being the change but prayers for the families of the ones who loss their life cause that's sad

Just curious, would or could they request to shut down the hotels like they do the bars that are associated with high crime rates?

Sumter is turning into the Wild Wild West Not a day goes by when you don't hear about shooting Regard for life seems to be a thing of the past

Yeah I called 911 before and report suspicious people around the house about 1:00 in the morning and they said they're sending somebody out the 911 operator said to me I waited and no one ever came bad leadership in the city department seems to me it's a lot of incompetency now mind you I support all the first responders no matter what but the city needs to do a little bit better job than what they're doing and get new leadership in there or something

It's not just Sumter it's every where they just don't talk about it as much as they do sumter

Officers can't predict where and when a violent crime will occurr. Can proactive things be done? Yes. The hotels rent mainly to the locals on the weekends to stay in business. That being said increase patrols at these locations on the weekend. Hotels can hire off duty officers for security during those times also. Yes judges and the solicitors office need to be harder on violent crime issues and we need to do away with bond judges having immunity. Some may blame the gun nut it is not a gun issue it is a people issue. More needs to be done to address why violence seems to be the only response to resolving an issue. Community and church leaders need to be involved addressing that mindset and focus on the younger generations And I am sorry but a little stop the violence march/walk has not and will not fix the problem.

This is why people don't vacation here

That motel has been a crackheads house for years now!

I hope this motel had a camera to help locate the gunman. 🙏

So glad we move out of Sumter

Why not give some details....if details such as car had been released in prior the killer would of been found earlier...but also same incident where POS waived a gun around, cops, were called and responded but they didn't look in or ask for names while a person with a warrant sat 1.5 ft away and then killed another within hours ( the PA downtown). Also remember criminals have scanners and leave before the department shows upGetting a little fed up with lack of involvement when criminals are allowed to live and continue their activity feet away from where my children sleep

The police chief, Mayor, and the city manager needs to be fired and new leadership brought in.

Sending Prayers...the judges slap wrist and let them out WAY TOO SOON

I really don’t care about seeing who got promoted or who got rewarded. I care more about the quality of life! It’s a shame that crime is this bad and it’s not even Christmas Season yet.

I am not sure what’s going on in Sumter anymore. Sad to see.

Sumter Police is always hiring to those who want to help make a change. Apply on their website.

Probably need metal detectors for entrance to any public building at this point

Gianna Hill Little ole Sumter is living up to its name Murk City…this is why I don’t like you going there to hang out…Thank goodness it’s not something you do on a regular

Praying going out to the family 🙏

Deepest sympathy sending prayer

Those are weekend dope motels and the owners know it

That doesn't surprise me it's so sad but after all this is Sumter and it's getting worse

I feel bad for tourist that don’t know about the bad hotels and book there and get in the midst of all that

That so sad

15-year-old charged in shooting that left another teen injured

SUMTER, SC (Aug. 15, 2024) – An 18-year-old was left injured, and a 15-year-old is in custody following a domestic-related shooting Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched after 2:45 p.m. Wednesday when they found the victim, who suffered a gunshot wound, on Ash Street. He was listed in stable condition this morning after being flown to a Columbia hospital.

Information gathered in the case indicates the 18-year-old of Sumter was parked in front of a residence on Barwick Street when shots were fired into his vehicle. He tried to drive away, crashed and then ran to Ash Street where police were called.

The shooter, who ran from the scene on Barwick Street, was soon located by officers and taken into custody.

The 15-year-old, whose name is not being released because of his age, is being held in a state Department of Juvenile Justice facility. He is charged with attempted murder, possession of a handgun by a person under 18 and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

An investigation is continuing.

It starts in the home. Where was this boys father? When will communities start taking a hard look in the mirror? Until they do, this will continue.

The 15 year old was not in school?

No matter the age Should start releasing their names. Where or what are these parents doing??? Are they not involved with their kids friends & family? 15 year olds should have a strict curfew & it should be known of where they go & who they are associated with. Sounds like this child has had a free boundary & now he is serious trouble.

Why wasn't he in school

“Do everything in love.” – Corinthians 16:14It all starts at home. Please be the love that children need and teach it also.

You do an adult crime you should be treated like an adult! Why protect their identity?!

Maybe some people shouldnt get on here and speak on anything ! I'm the 15 year olds cousin and i ain't taking sides cause it's so many stories and lies being mixed up ! It's sad on both situations I hate they both got tied up into some mess like this

Praying for the youth of Sumter County

For all the ones asking where did a 15 yo get the gun, well if you can remember when Simpsons got robbed and all those weapons were taken?? …yeah they never caught the thieves or retrieved the guns so I can imagine their floating all over Sumter county right now and probably going at a cheap price!! This is getting out of hand and I hate to say it but these kids aren’t even making it to see 20 without getting killed or thrown into jail 💔😞🙏🏼

Pray for these kids🙏🏿

Can't help but wonder why the 18 yr old was parked in front of the 15 yr olds house to start with? Seems suspicious

So sad prayers

Prayers for all

Just awful all of this is happening. My Aunt & Uncle used to live on that street. It used to be an great neighborhood.

This why I stay in the house

Praying 🙏🏾

mann free my mfn csnn until it’s backwards ❤️🔐

FREE MY BROTHER🖤‼️

This generation of parents are horrible! It’s seriously sad how these young children are growing up

Why these young kids keep getting their hands on guns ?? Where their parents at ?? How do yall not know what your kids are doing ?? How do yall not know your 15 year old son has a gun ?? How invested are these parents in these kids life’s ?? I got so many questions bc this is getting so outta hand ! Parents nowadays would rather be friends with their kids instead of actual parents ! I said what I said and don’t care who feel some type of way about it , these young kids is getting out of hand with this gun violence

How are all these YOUNG KIDS getting these guns???? The parents just DONT care anymore what their children are doing? 😡

Not even surprised no more

15 years old…

Smh...

For All Y’all Saying Free Him Maybe Yall Should Sit Him Down and Tell Him To Not Do The Dumbsh*t Idgaf If It’s Family Or Someone I Love If They’re Doing Dumbsh*t I’m Most Definitely Gonna Tell Them Right From Wrong Now He Can Catch A Attempted Murder ChargeUnlawful Possession Of A FirearmDischarging In A Vehicle
